We got tired of chasing cleaners too.
Kleanera started because agents and landlords around Nottingham kept telling us the same thing. Finding a cleaner is easy. Finding one who holds a standard for more than a couple of months isn't.
Our story
Why we do it this way.
Ask a letting agent about their cleaning contractor and you usually get the same story. It was great for two months, then it slipped. A different face turning up each week. A job that was technically done, but not to the standard the check-out report needed. An invoice that didn’t quite match the conversation.
It’s rarely about effort. Most cleaning gets sold as a person for a number of hours, with nothing written down about what they’re meant to achieve while they’re there. When there’s no list, there’s nothing to check the work against, and clean ends up meaning whatever the loudest person in the room says it means.
So we do it the other way round. We look at the property first and write the standard down, room by room. We price against that document, we employ and train the people who deliver it, and we check the work against it afterwards and send you the record. It’s a slower way to start a job. It’s a much quicker way to stop arguing about one.
What you end up with is a company agents and landlords can plan their week around, and one homeowners can more or less forget about.

You get it in writing
We look at the property before the first visit and write down what we'll do in each room. You know what you're paying for, and we know what we've signed up to.
We check the work
A supervisor goes through the job against that list before we leave, and you get the findings and the photos. It's useful six months later when a tenant queries something.
The same faces each time
Our cleaners work for us. We train them, we vet them, and we don't subcontract. Keeping the same team on a property is the main reason standards hold up.
We only work Nottingham
One city means we can schedule tightly and cover sickness at short notice. It also means our teams know the difference between a Beeston terrace and a Lace Market flat.

Every Kleanera cleaner is on our payroll. They’re DBS-checked, reference-checked and right-to-work verified before their first shift, and they get trained on how we write and work to a specification. Nobody just gets handed a mop and a postcode.
We pay above the statutory minimum, provide the equipment and cover the travel. A team that isn’t being squeezed doesn’t cut corners, and that turns out to be the cheapest quality control we’ve found.

We've kept to a single city on purpose. It means tighter scheduling, real short-notice cover when someone's off, and teams who already know the buildings.
Just outside this list? Ask anyway. For contract work we’ll often go further out across Nottinghamshire and into Derbyshire.
